(We’ll use this page to share more details as we get closer to the big day.)
“To Our Out of Town Loved Ones:In an effort to ensure you enjoy your stay, here’s some key information:Flights:We recommend flying into Oakland Airport (OAK) unless the price difference is over $100. At that point, San Francisco Airport (SFO) is a good option. San Jose is too far.Hotels/AccommodationsThere are limited hotel options in Oakland (and the surrounding East Bay). You may prefer to reserve an Airbnb. If you prefer a hotel, we recommend:Downtown Oakland Hotels Super convenient location. Within walking distance from Bart (the local subway), Lake Merritt, Jack London Square, Chinatown, Uptown Oakland restaurants & Old Oakland restaurants. Also, a 5 minute Lyft ride from the venue.Oakland Marriott Courtyard Oakland Downtown Jack London Square HotelsA more romantic location. Stroll around the dock and soak in sunsets, or take a ferry to San Francisco. Not too close to Bart (the subway), so you’ll want to take a Lyft (or ferry) to get everywhere once you’re there. Just a 5 minute ride to venue.Waterfront HotelZ Hotel Jack London SquareIf you really want to get amazing views, check them out at this historic hotel:Claremont Hotel (your Lyft ride to the venue will be 15-25 minutes)Other cities to consider: Berkeley, Emeryville. Note: If you stay in San Francisco on the night of the wedding, your commute back over the bridge will be pricey.Airbnb neighborhoods we recommend:Rockridge - where we live!Lake MerrittUptown OaklandBerkeley (your Lyft ride will be 15-25 minutes)- Ellie A note from Ellie: If you are new to the Bay Area and want my tips on what to eat, where to hike, and what to see, please reply to this message.
